The rank in NPCC is not very value nowdays as many school just promote cadet no matter u got the quilty or not. They do this for the sake of UOPA.Haiz..This make those who work hard for it ,come to parde everyday feel no point have the rank as even u dun come for weeks you will still get to promote. YOu go every school sure got at least a few case of this .The test is held internally so the Tester can pass you or not is his problem. There is guildlines for the testing but not all refer to it or follow it strictly.

And so? Is it the fault of the CIs? Or the Officers? If 10 persons never follow the guidelines, another 100 ppl will. So, in the end, 90% of them will follow the guidelines.
Btw, the guidelines u would love ppl to follow says that the rank is not just an accessory to ur uniform.
If u not happy with the tester's methods of testing, tell ur OC la. That's wat TOs and OCs are for. If students bo chup, they will switch off also. If u show them that the students have interest and PRIDE, so will they.
Don't ever assume a person is unfair, unless u have solid evidence to prove it. Otherwise, it sounds as if ur just sour grapes, or in simple words, A PERSON WHO DOES NOTHING BUT WHINE.

But i agree on one thing.... FIGHT AGAINST UOPA!
UOPA was meant to standardize the achievements of units. But it is now getting out of hand such that Principals are obsessed with the SCHOOL OVERALL ACHIEVEMENT AWARD, leading their OC NPCC to go nuts over UOPA.
The traditions of NPCC are dying because of UOPA.
Here's a little loophole in the UOPA 2005 that I managed to find, with my OC:
The UOPA states that a unit will gain points for hosting an event where at least 10 units are involved in. However, the new criteria for the units in the UOPA removes the need for participating to gain UOPA points.
The question OCs now ask is: Why participate if I dun get any UOPA points? Might as well concentrate on getting more UOPA points right?
So wat happens to the organising unit? They lose the UOPA points because the same UOPA doesnt say that the units must go n join.
In the end, no one will organise anything and the whole NPCC will suffer coz there are no interesting activities by school units. Only NTU n NUS NPCC units seem to be immune to this, but they are Open units and dun count on UOPA points.
The message is clear: REFORM THE UOPA SYSTEM OR SCRAP IT!!

Hi fatso241,
I assume you are still a cadet?
Apparently you have some bad experience with CIs.
I think I can pretty understand what you're trying to say but probably the way you're expressing isn't exactly what you really mean - "About the rank ,haha the phrase "at least repect their rank" but,to me ,some sort of just a accessories to the uniform"
I agree that the rank is just an accessory on the shoulders...physically.
But the symbolic meaning of the rank varies from individuals to individuals...we can see this across the board of NPCC. That's why the differing views of CIs, HOs, cadets of different units, etc. Agree?
Hence, I suppose the symbolic meaning of the rank in the case of the CIs you know is kinda low or insignificant.
You will see more of such CIs if you decide to 'explore' the NPCC in Singapore...however, they exist in minority (as far as I know). I am very sure...that while doing that, you will find that there are even MORE CIs who are respectable more than that accessory cloth on the shoulder.
I am not sure why you join NPCC in the first place, but I think it should be for a good cause.
You know what? The fact that you are able to say that your CIs are bad shows that you have quite good observational and analytical skills...and you probably have seen better CIs that's why you know the CIs you're suffering under are 'bad'.
Fret not...just endure and if you have the chance...[glow=red,2,300]PROVE [/glow]to them the kind of CI you have in your mind...aspire to be one :-D
All the best!

In my point of view is that they are still not mature at this stage just like me .Even if they go the the course ,it does not matter. It is tough but after everyting do you think they will still remember wat the course teach them ?And if they get takan in the course will they try to revenge on the cadet? About the rank ,haha the phrase "at least repect their rank" but,to me ,some sort of just a accessories to the uniform.I only respect those who did something which benefit the world or in smaller scale for Singapore. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- I do have nice CIs in my unit and they treat me well.I have some bad view about CIs as they all like to use verbal abuse and corpal punishment from the experiences of NPCC day practice and voices from other cadets from other schools. AS if the course teaches them that all punishment no matter big or small,do pumping and then in pumping position they will nag nag (verbal abuse) and worst their words shoot you till u feel you are useless.Soon those who endure the scolding and punishment, they will start to have negetive think that if sir pump them just treat it as listening to the radio or a dog barking .It will make the cadet do bad things as anyway it just a dog barking wat.other will become sicko and they will do the same on their juniors with in turn unbreakable cycle. some Cis a bit small things also dun want do themselves, ask this and that as if cadets are their maids. They are just not mature and do have negetive thinking tt y young people tends to do bad things like fight or crime Diaoz...

i think e best thing is to be fair to all cdts. thats where 'one for all, all for one' comes in. i sometimes got cdts complaining to me that it is kinda unfair but i always tell them that they are your own squadmates. if u dun want to get punished, then remind them before making mistakes. the most impt thing is they learn from theitr own mistakes.
