What is expected of HOs (in the view of cdts/TOs)?

Not all HOs are there to wayang u noe... some actually DO SOMETHING for their unit...

Besides, if u get posted back to ur own unit/area, then as a HO, u surely wanna try to improve the standards right?

In some areas, HOs not very welcome... so just beware which area u wanna go to...

I love HOs they are best .my unit got one HO frmm NCC last time and with him around, the sir will not crap here and there punish here and there.

Haha my unit is in the east.Cannot tell the name or later the CIs will takan me . HO is far more muture than CIs .I will respect HO more than CI as Ci is only older than cadet for aobut 1 to 3 years and wat make them have the power to order people around .whlie for HO they are muture (older by more than 5 and they dun happy not happy takan cadets(hope so)

Cannot say like that lah. Even if ur CI is 1 to 3 years older, he/she still went thru CIBTC, which is tough in itself. The experience they have is a lot. Even if u dun like the person, must respect at least the rank.

In my point of view is that they are still not mature at this stage just like me .Even if they go the the course ,it does not matter.It is tough but after everyting do you think they will still remember wat the course teach them ?And if they get takan in the course will they try to revenge on the cadet?
About the rank ,haha the phrase "at least repect their rank" but,to me ,some sort of just a accessories to the uniform.I only respect those who did something which benefit the world or in smaller scale for Singapore.

I do have nice CIs in my unit and they treat me well.I have some bad view about CIs as they all like to use verbal abuse and corpal punishment from the experiences of NPCC day practice and voices from other cadets from other schools. AS if the course teaches them that all punishment no matter big or small,do pumping and then in pumping position they will nag nag (verbal abuse) and worst their words shoot you till u feel you are useless.Soon those who endure the scolding and punishment, they will start to have negetive think that if sir pump them just treat it as listening to the radio or a dog barking .It will make the cadet do bad things as anyway it just a dog barking wat.other will become sicko and they will do the same on their juniors with in turn unbreakable cycle.

some Cis a bit small things also dun want do themselves,ask this and that as if cadets are their maids.They are just not mature and do have negetive thinking tt y young people tends to do bad things like fight or crime

It looks like u have a bad experience with CIs. Truth is, most CIs are not like that lah... Most are nice ppl who dun tekan cadets for no reason. When they do something, like punishment, they will explain why they did it first. That is something they are taught during the CI course.

True...i agree with u. for wad i do to my cadets in my unit, i only punish them whenever they do the wrong things. for this, kestrel83 can be my witness cus he my HO back in unit. Sometimes when i punish my cadets, my HO was present at times so that if he thinks that i go "overborad", at least he is there to like stop me. At the end of the day when i ask my cadet to write a "Reflection" on wad happened for the day during training, most of them understand that i dun punish them for no reason and that they understand why i'm doing this . So far, i havent received any complaints from my cadets as just yet.[\quote]

if you got so many complains, that leave me wondering why u joined NPCC in the first place? since u have so many complains about ur unit CI's, did u provide them with ur feedback during debrief after training? i guess no rite? so if u still want to keep on complaining about ur CIs, then i suggest u quit NPCC instaed of complaining on and on and on.... and by the way, for ur info, our rank (CI) don't come easy. so if u think that the rank is nothing but a piece of accessories on ur uniform, then i think u r not fit to put on that rank of urs on ur uniform.[\quote]

Fatso241, if u think that rank is just a piece of accessory to ur uniform, then u are going to suffer in National Service. If u keep on thinking like that, u might end up behind the bright orange bars of SAFDB.

If rank means nothing to u, that means u got the rank too cheaply. Ur OC Santa Claus ar? Give out ranks like Xmas presents?
